BROOK J. WOOD
Associate Lawyer
Brook J. Wood joined Homestead Law in April 2025 after completing his articles of clerkship at a private family law firm in Edmonton. He graduated with a JD from the University of Alberta law school in 2023, and was called to the Alberta Bar in August 2024. Prior to law school, Brook obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Alberta, and an Associate of Arts degree in Theology from RBT College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As a law student, Brook worked for the late Carol Crosson at Crosson Constitutional Law and Rights and Freedoms’ Advocate, defending constitutional and human rights throughout Canada. During this time, Brook assisted with several high-profile cases protecting rights and freedoms across the country.
Brook also personally founded and fundraised for an initiative to help pay for litigation to protect constitutional and human rights for post-secondary students within Alberta, volunteering his time to assist numerous individuals seeking relief under the Alberta Human Rights Act.
Currently, Brook plans to grow his practice in wills & estates, real estate law, and small business law. He is excited to work with new clients to help them navigate the legal system and to assist them with various legal transactions.
Outside of the office, Brook enjoys playing sports and being involved in his local community. He was born and raised in Southeast Edmonton just East of Sherwood Park, and spent his childhood playing hockey, golf, rugby, skiing, and the odd horseback riding lesson. He has volunteered with his community league and schoolboard, including as a literacy study-buddy in elementary schools, coaching hockey for children, and teaching disabled children how to safely ride bicycles.
Brook is excited to be a part of Homestead Law, providing legal services in the spirit of honesty, integrity, and hard work.
